Big Drop Pale Ale Review
Brewery: Big Drop Brewing
Big Drop have done something really good bringing the flavour of a full ABV pale ale but reducing it to a 0.5% light pale ale. BDP has held its own in competitions against full-strength beers and won.
As you would expect, it is incredibly easy to drink, pretty light, nice and hoppy. It’s a little on the sweet side for me personally, but everyone’s palate is different.
It pours a clear golden amber colour with a thin white head. On the nose, it is surprisingly fruity with hints of grape, lemon and elderflower. To taste, it is rather hoppy and resinous, with flavours of grapefruit and lemon standing out.
For a low/non-alcoholic beer it’s just fantastic. In a blind taste test, I doubt you would even be able to tell.
